About This Role

We are seeking a passionate, gifted elementary educator to join our growing school community. The ideal candidate is a committed Christian who brings academic excellence, creativity, and genuine love for children to a classroom grounded in biblical truth. This is a rare opportunity to do meaningful, mission-driven work in a small school where every teacher is known, valued, and empowered.

Responsibilities

Plan and deliver engaging, standards-aligned lessons in core subjects (Math, Language Arts, Science, Social Studies)
Integrate biblical worldview and Christian character into daily instruction
Maintain a warm, structured, student-centered classroom environment
Conduct regular assessments and communicate student progress to parents
Collaborate with colleagues, administration, and families
Participate in school events, chapel, and professional development
Support and uphold ACA's mission, values, and community standards

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Education or related field (required)
Maryland teaching certification or eligibility (preferred)
Demonstrated Christian faith consistent with the Orthodox Tewahedo tradition or evangelical Christianity
1+ years of classroom teaching experience (preferred)
Experience with Singapore Math or mastery-based instruction (a plus)
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Genuine passion for children's academic and spiritual formation

Schedule: Mon–Fri, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM
Employment: Full-time, 10-month school year
Reports to: Academic Director
